The Holy Grail of car audio wiring kits is the ability to acquire something at a fair and reasonable price. However, the words “fair and reasonable” are often open to interpretation. That is, a person could walk into an electronics store and see several subwoofers speakers on the shelves. Some may cost $199 and others might cost $1,999. Now, really, is there a huge difference between the two? Can you not hear the same sounds from the $199 dollar speakers that you would hear from the $1,999 one? This is the flawed logic that leads to purchasing the wrong system. No, cheap is not always the greatest strategy to employ. Let’s look at a few reasons why….
The life of the system, for example, should always play a factor whenever you purchase car audio wiring kits. When you purchase a low cost system, you may be getting a deal at the time of purchase. However, the system you produce may not last very long. Performance will degrade as the wiring starts to age and wear down. That means that replacing the audio system will be required within a very short period of time. In terns of simple math, you will need to go out and purchase a new system. So, if you spent $199 on subwoofer speakers and they needed to be replaced, you have to spend more money to acquire a new system. Purchasing another $199 system means you have spent $398 on speakers that are not very good! And, yes, that second speaker system would have to be replaced down the road as well. By this point, you will surely have realized purchasing a more expensive speaker system would have ended up being cheaper in the long run.
It is also important to point out that when you go “on the cheap” with your subwoofers, you will notice a difference in the sound. Basically, most cheap systems do not deliver the quality of sound that a higher grade system will deliver. As such, a cheaper system basically undermines the purpose of buying the subwoofer in the first place. After all, you are purchasing the subwoofer to greatly expand your audio experience. Purchasing a subwoofer that does not deliver on this would not be very beneficial.
Of course, it is also important to recognize the difference between cheap products and price cuts. When a $500 system goes on sale for $200, it is not a “cheap” item. It is a top of the line electronics system that is being offered at a tremendous deal. Needless to say, this is an opportunity to take advantage of! That is why it is critical to not just look at price, but to compare price with the product you are purchasing.
Once again, there is nothing wrong with looking for a deal. However, you do not want to look for a deal that doesn’t deliver a decent car audio wiring system. So, always seek to match the right price with the right quality. This will not lead you astray!
